About

Built for the jobs on the someday list.

Range Road Digital exists because of a gap everyone in a village office already knows about: the IT jobs that are too small for the big vendors and too municipal for the local computer shop. A historical database that needs restructuring. A permit process still running on paper. A website nobody on staff can update. These jobs sit unfixed for years, not because they're hard, but because nobody sells a way to buy them.

We sell exactly that: fixed-price, plainly scoped, small enough for your office to approve directly.

A family company

Range Road Digital is a family-run division of Voratus, an Alberta software company. The work is done by the people you talk to on the phone: full-stack development, data engineering, mobile apps, and modern cloud infrastructure, without an account manager in between.

And a commitment we're happy to put in writing: the work is never outsourced overseas. Your records are municipal records. They stay in Canada, handled by the same Canadian hands from the first call to the closing memo.

This isn't theoretical. Under Voratus we built and operate a complete management platform for a member-owned rural water co-operative (membership, governance, records, mapping, and finances), and a road-condition product that pairs a vehicle-mounted pothole sensor with a companion phone app. Database to dashboard to the phone in the truck: all of it built in-house.

How we work

The honest answer to "what if you get hit by a truck?"

Small vendors get asked this, and they should. Our answer is structural: because you own everything and every deliverable is documented for a stranger to pick up, our continuity risk is the same as any contractor's, and lower than a platform vendor's, where losing the vendor means losing the product. No lock-in is not a slogan; it's the succession plan.

Where we work

Based in Alberta, serving towns, villages, summer villages, municipal districts, and rural utility co-operatives (water and gas) across the province. Remote for most work, on-site when the job needs it.
